DENVER - Grand Canyon's legor Lytvenok and Mike Bidak have been named Western Athletic Conference Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for Nov. 16-Nov. 22.

Lytvenok, a senior from Kryviy Rig, Ukraine (MP Dragomanov National Pedagogic University) time in the 200 IM has a CollegeSwimming.com performance score of 856.0 and is the highest rated performance of any WAC swimmer this season. It is also a NCAA B qualifying time. His time is currently the 4th fastest 200 IM time in DI and the fastest in the WAC this season. It was the pool record at Norris Aquatic Center, erasing the record previously held by Olympian Matt Grevers. It was also a team record.

Bidak, a senior from Scottsdale, Ariz. (Horizon HS) scored a 299.45 on the 1 meter, placing second, 307.15 on the 3 meter, again placing second and 209.50 on the platform dive placing third to help his team to a second place finish at the Northwestern TYR Invitational.

Other swimmer nominees: CSU Bakersfield's Lovre Soric led the ‘Runners at the A3 Performance Invitational with impressive swims against a tough field. The sophomore from Croatia posted eighth-place finishes in the 200 back (1:47.26) and 200 IM (1:50.77). His time in the 200 back was the second best time in the WAC this season while his 200 IM time lowered his own WAC-best time this year. Soric also helped the men's 200 medley relay team to finish eighth with a time of 1:31.71, a WAC Top 5 time. UNLV's Dillon Virva was one of only two swimmers to break 19 seconds for the 50 free this weekend. He is currently tenth in nation for the 50 free. Virva is also second in the conference for the 100 fly. The relay teams that he competed on placed the entire weekend.

Other diver nominees: CSU Bakersfield's Tyler Greenwald took first in the 3-meter on Friday with a season-best score of 301.58. One year ago, Greenwald was only one of five WAC men's divers to break the 300-point plateau in the event. The junior also posted a season-best score of 256.65 on the 1-meter board for a third place finish behind USC's divers.
