NCAA Tournament Bracket in PDF
NM State will travel to Palo Alto, Calif., to face No. 8 Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 7 p.m. (PT) this Thursday, Dec. 3.
The Aggies (28-5), winners of 19 straight matches, went undefeated in WAC play and earned the conference's automatic bid by winning the WAC Tournament last weekend. This is NM State's eighth NCAA Tournament appearance and first since the 2013 season.
The Aggies are led by WAC Player of the Year and WAC Tournament MVP Gwen Murphy, who averages 3.29 kills on .425 hitting, 0.85 blocks and 0.68 digs per set.
Stanford (22-6) earned an at-large bid out of the Pac-12 Conference and is the No. 8 overall seed. The Cardinal are led by Hayley Hodson, who averages 4.58 points, 3.85 kills, 2.42 digs and 0.74 blocks per set.
In the other match, Colorado State (26-3) faces Loyola Marymount (22-8) at 4:30 p.m. (PT) Thursday. The Rams earned the automatic bid out of the Mountain West Conference, while the Lions earned an at-large bid out of the West Coast Conference.
The winners of the two matches will play at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4.
