WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Announced

DENVER - NM State's Brianna Freeman has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 23 through Nov. 29.

Freeman, a junior forward from Killeen, Texas (Harker Heights HS), averaged 15.0 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game as the Aggies remained undefeated with wins over Southern Utah, Northwestern State and Northern Arizona. The reigning WAC Player of the Year shot .556 from both the field and on free throws while recording double-doubles against both Northwestern State and Northern Arizona.

Other nominees included: CSU Bakersfield's Batabe Zempare was named to the All-Tournament team at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown … Missouri-Kansas City's Aries Washington was named to the Plaza Lights Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 11.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg … Seattle U's Taelor Ross averaged 11.3 ppg and 5.7 rpg, earning all-tournament honors at the LMU Thanksgiving Classic … UT Rio Grande Valley's Shawnte' Goff scored 22 points in a four-point loss at TCU … Utah Valley's Mariah Seals averaged 20.0 ppg as the Wolverines went 2-1 on the week.
