Seattle U's Lane Named Academic All-District
DENVER - Seattle U junior Kerry Lane has been named first team Academic All-District 8 by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced Thursday by the national organization.

Lane is majoring in mechanical engineering and currently carries a 3.85 grade-point average. She is a two-time Academic All-WAC honoree and has helped the Seattle U volleyball receive the AVCA Team Academic Award in back-to-back years.

Lane currently ranks second in the WAC with 9.89 assists per set in all matches, collecting a total of 752 assists so far this season. In WAC matches only, she has earned 428 assists, averaging 10.19 assists per set to sit second in the league in that category, as well. Lane has two of the league's top four single-match assist totals in 2015, accumulating 56 assists at Missouri-Kansas City on Sept. 24 and 55 assists at NM State on Oct. 17.

In her collegiate career, Lane has collected 2,935 assists, just 65 assists away from becoming only the third player in Seattle U volleyball history to reach the 3,000 career assist mark. She is one of only two players in program history to earn at least 1,000 assists in back-to-back seasons, finishing with 1,076 assists in 2013 and 1,107 assists in 2014.

Lane, who is now eligible for Academic All-America® honors, is the first Seattle U volleyball player to earn Academic All-District recognition since Kelly Biette received the award in 2012.
