DENVER - UT Rio Grande Valley junior Fatoumata Dacosta has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 2-8. This is her first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor.
Making her first two career starts at libero, the junior from Dakar, Senegal, led the Vaqueros to a 2-0 record last week, averaging 7.17 digs, 1.00 assists and 0.33 service aces per set. In a sweep of Grand Canyon last Thursday, Dacosta posted a career-high 24 digs, the highest total in a three-set match in the WAC this season, to go along with two assists. She followed it up with 19 digs, a career-high four assists and a career-high two service aces in a sweep of CSU Bakersfield, a team that was tied for second place in the WAC standings. Dacosta, who entered the week averaging just 2.14 digs per set, has now posted double-digit digs six times this season, including four in a row.

Missouri-Kansas City's Madison Mosier averaged 4.67 kills on .591 hitting in a sweep of Chicago State ... Bradley Nash of NM State averaged 2.86 kills as the Aggies went 2-0 on the week and clinched the WAC regular-season title ... Seattle U's Kerry Lane averaged 13.67 assists, 1.67 digs and 0.67 service aces and set the team to a .387 hitting percentage in a sweep of Utah Valley ... Madison Dennison of Utah Valley averaged 2.33 kills on .700 hitting in a loss at Seattle U.
