DENVER -Grand Canyon's Susie Baklini has been named Western Athletic Conference Tennis Player of the Month, respectively, for November.
Baklini, a junior from Albuquerque, N.M. (University of New Mexico) went undefeated in singles in the month of November. She won first place in the flight 2 singles at the GCU Invite beating AZ Christian's Lauren Garcia, Abilene Christian's Nada Marjanovic and Kaysie Hermsdorf as well as teammate Lana Macukat. The junior also earned second place in Flight 1 doubles at the GCU Invite with partner Tatum Prudhomme. The duo picked up wins over AZ Christian and Northern Arizona.
Other women's nominees: Seattle U's Michelle Lui advanced to the quarterfinals at Gonzaga's Bulldog Invitational by beating Portland State's Sabrina Preda and Montana's Lidia Dukic. Lui also advanced to the semifinals in double with partner Kelli Woodman with wins over Portland State and Gonzaga.
