DENVER – Grand Canyon’s Josh Ralston and teammate Jude Olear have been named the Western Athletic Conference men’s track and field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for February 2-8.
Ralston, a junior from Detroit, Mich. (Hamilton HS), raced to two first place finishes at the Air Force Quadrangular this weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo. Ralston ran the fastest time in the conference in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 21.75 seconds. He also won the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in a time of 47.91 seconds.
Olear, a junior from Los Angeles, Calif. (West LA Community College), turned in a pair of second-place finishes in the long jump and triple jump Friday at the Air Force Quadrangular. Olear recorded a distance of 6.91 meters (fourth-best in the WAC) in the long jump and 14.46 meters in the triple jump to lead the Grand Canyon charge in the field events. Olear’s mark in the triple jump is the second-best in the conference this season.
