Saturday's Recap
After finishing second in the women's 500 freestyle Northern Colorado's Carleigh Barrett claimed her first WAC title in the mile (16:41.44) to start the final session of the championships. Pool and WAC record holder, Mitchell Huxhold of Bakersfield defended his WAC title winning the men's mile in a time of 14:56.84 just ten seconds away from an NCAA “A”cut. In the women's 200 backstroke, defending WAC champion Iryna Glavnyk, won with a time of 1:54.82 followed by teammate Iegor Lytvenok. Lytvenok set a new pool and WAC record in the consolation heat for the men's event (1:42.94). UNLV's Henrique Machado won the men's 200 backstroke in the finals heat with a time of 1:43.41, all three times being NCAA “B” cuts. WAC women's 200 freestyle champion, Kelsey Lange, won her second title of the meet in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.59. Adam Kalms, the men's 200 freestyle champion also won his second title in the 100 freestyle finishing at 43.23. Senior Jessica Legge, who also won the women's 100 breaststroke, made a comeback in the 200 breast after finishing in eighth place last year. She won the women's event with a time of 2:15.06 which is an NCAA “B” qualifying time. In the men's event, Michael Barnosky of Air Force claimed his second win for the Falcons with a time of 1:56.89. Grand Canyon's Hannah Kastigar won her third event of the meet in the women's 200 butterfly finishing with an NCAA “B” qualifying time of 1:57.49. Avi Cohen out touches teammate Balint Batka in the last couple yards for the men's 200 butterfly title and new WAC meet record (1:45.17). On the men's platform, Dominic Vallejo score of 330.90 to win the event for the Falcons. To conclude the 2015 WAC Swimming and Diving Championships, the Bakersfield women and Grand Canyon men won the 400 freestyle relays.


Friday's Recap
Last year's WAC Freshman of the Year, Hannah Kastigar of Grand Canyon, opened tonight's finals defending her 400 IM title earning herself an NCAA “B” cut (4:12.42). Teammate Iegor Lytvenok kept the pace, swimming to a new pool record, WAC record and NCAA “B” qualifying time of 3:43.52. Freshman Alina Staffeldt from Northern Arizona won the 100 butterfly (53.86) followed by UNLV's Dillon Virva in a time of 47.06. Dropping two seconds from last years' time and moving up from a fifth place overall finish, Bakersfield's Kelsey Lange won the women's 200 free in 1:48.48. On the men's side, senior Adam Kalms became the two-time defending champion in the men's 200 free with a time of 1:34.39 which also qualifies as an NCAA “B” cut. In the women's breaststroke New Mexico State's senior Jessica Legge won her third consecutive 100 breaststroke title with a 1:01.74. In the men's event, breaking a WAC record with a time of 53.11, from Air Force, Michael Barnosky. Grand Canyon's sophomore Iryna Glavnyk won the women's 100 backstroke with an NCAA “B” time of 53.63 followed by UNLV's Henrique Machado (47.08) who also won the event last year. Women's 1 meter diving champion Savanna Meadows claimed her second WAC title winning the women's platform with a score of 222.80. To conclude day three, the Grand Canyon women and the UNLV men won the 400 medley relays. Going into the final day of the championship, Northern Arizona leads the women's rankings and the UNLV leads the men.


Thursday's Recap
New Mexico State's Amina Gummesson opened the second day of the WAC Championships with a win in the women's 500 freestyle (4:50.94). Bakersfield's Mitchell Huxhold held on to his WAC title in the men's 500 winning it with a time of 4:17.37, also an NCAA “B” qualifying time. After taking second place last year, Grand Canyon's Hannah Kastigar made a comeback in the 200 IM taking first in the event with an NCAA “B” qualifying time of 1:59.11. Teammate, Iegor Lytvenok followed her success winning the men's event after breaking his own pool record, WAC record and WAC meet record with an NCAA “B” qualifying time of 1:44.29. In the 50 freestyle, North Dakota's Courtney Funk won with a time of 22.85 which also qualifies as an NCAA “B” cut. UNLV's Dillon Virva, defending champion in the men's 50 freestyle, qualified for an NCAA “A” time of 19.17. Virva was also the second leg of UNLV's victorious 200 free relay. Their time of 1:17.44 was not only an NCAA “A” time but set a new pool and WAC meet record. North Dakota's women edged out a win in the 200 free relay over Bakersfield with a time of 1:32.86. On the boards, Northern Arizona's Chelsea Jackson won the women's 3 meter (308.95). Nate Zillweger held on to his 1 meter diving title scoring a best of 323.85. Heading into day three, Northern Arizona leads the women and Air Force leads the men's teams.


Wednesday's Recap
The first night of the WAC Swimming & Diving Championships kicked off with some fast swimming and top performances on both boards. The Grand Canyon women and UNLV men held on to their 2014 200 medley relay titles to start the first finals session of the meet. On the women's 1 meter, Northern Colorado's Savanna Meadows made her first appearance in the WAC finals to eventually win the event with a score of 282.10. The UNLV men claimed their second win of the night in the 800 free relay along with the Bakersfield women who also won the event at last year's championship. On the men's 3 meter, Wyoming's Jacob Rehmeier made a comeback after finishing third last year, winning the event with a score of 324.75. Northern Colorado leads the women's teams' rankings and Wyoming leads the men after the first night. Thursday's prelims start at 10:30 a.m. CT with the men's 1 meter and the 500 freestyle.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas
- The 2015 WAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships get underway in San Antonio, Texas, Feb. 25-28. Over the four days, eight women's teams and seven men's teams will compete for the conference championships at Palo Alto College Aquatic Center. Northern Arizona was last year's women's champion while UNLV won the men's team trophy.

The championship begins Wednesday afternoon at 10:30 a.m. CT with women's 1-meter diving prelims followed by the men's 3-meter diving prelims. The first finals events will begin in the evening session on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT, with the 200 medley and 800 free relays and finals for diving.

The WAC will be streaming the finals of all four nights. Viewers can watch for free by going to www.wacsports.com/watch.
