EDINBURG, Texas – (UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Tuesday that women's soccer head coach Glad Bugariu will serve as the head coach of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines women's soccer national team in the Windward Islanders Women's Fútbol Championship March 23-27 in St. Vincent.
Bugariu, who leaves for St. Vincent on Wednesday, will write a daily blog with photos chronicling his experiences on UTPABroncs.com.
This is the third time Bugariu has been a part of a national team coaching staff, having previously served as a men's soccer assistant coach with Grenada, and the technical director for the U.S. Virgin Islands.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be facing off against St. Lucia, Grenada and Dominica.
"I am looking forward to the experience and I am honored to have been invited to work with their national team program in preparation for such an important event," Bugariu said. "It is my hope that we will continue a positive experience with their fútbol association that may lead to recruiting opportunities and an exchange of ideas between coaching staffs. I am looking forward to proudly representing UTPA and the Rio Grande Valley in the Caribbean this month."
