New Mexico State Women Off To Maryland for NCAA Tournament

The 2015 WAC Champion New Mexico State Aggies will open up their first NCAA tournament since 1988 on Saturday afternoon in College Park, Md.  The Aggies were given a 16-seed and will take on 1-seed Maryland, beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The Terrapins (30-2) enter the tournament after winning the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles.  Maryland, who is coached by Brenda Frese, sister of Missouri-Kansas City head coach Marsha Frese, is led by 13.7 ppg from Lexie Brown.  The Aggies will also have to watch out for Brionna Jones, who averaged a double-double in conference play with 13.6 ppg and 10.6 rpg.

Also opening the tournament in College Park will be 8-seed Princeton (30-0) and 9-seed Green Bay (28-4).  The winner of the 1st and 2nd round games will advance to the Spokane Regional.
