EDINBURG – (UTPA Media Relations) The University of Texas-Pan American women’s basketball team announced on Monday that it has accepted an invitation to compete in the sixth annual Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI), marking the first postseason tournament appearance in program history, starting with a road game against Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The WBI is a four-round, 16-team, single-elimination bracketed tournament. All games are held at campus sites. The quarterfinals will be held on either March 21 or 22. The semifinals are scheduled for March 25 or 26. The WBI Championship Game will be contested on either March 28 or 29.
