DENVER – The 2014-15 All-WAC teams have been named, following a vote of the WAC’s eight head coaches.  New Mexico State’s Brianna Freeman headlines the awards, earning WAC Player of the Year honors, while Utah Valley’s Mariah Seals was named WAC Freshman of the Year and New Mexico State’s Mark Trakh earned WAC Coach of the Year honors.

A 6-1 forward from Killeen, Texas, Freeman ranked second in WAC play in scoring (17.5), rebounding (9.7) and field goal percentage (.541).She posted double-doubles in half her WAC games and have five games in WAC play with 20 or more points as the Aggies earned their first WAC regular season title.  Freeman was a two-time WAC Player of the Week.

Seals earned WAC Freshman of the Year honors after scoring in double figures in 10 WAC games.  She ranked fifth in WAC play in three-point field goal percentage (.411) and in three-point field goals made (2.14).

Trakh was named WAC Coach of the Year after leading the Aggies to their first-ever WAC regular season title with a 13-1 league record and a 20-7 overall mark.  New Mexico State held a WAC-best +9.4 scoring margin in league games and also led the WAC in steals (11.0) and turnover margin (+6.57).

Three schools are represented on the first team. Joining Freeman are New Mexico State’s Sasha Weber and Shanice Davis, Bakersfield’s Tyonna Outland and Texas-Pan American’s Shawnte’ Goff.

The All-WAC second teamers are Bakersfield’s Batabe Zempare and Alyssa Shannon, Seattle U’s Taelor Ross, Utah Valley’s Rhaiah Spooner-Knight and Texas-Pan American’s Brittany Bush.

The All-Defensive team represented four different schools, including Shannon and Outland, Grand Canyon’s Courtney Hayes, Texas-Pan American’s Tonisha Walker and New Mexico State’s Moriah Mack.

The All-Newcomer Team consists of Seals, Davis, Seattle U’s Crystal Allen, Missouri-Kansas City’s Aries Washington and Texas-Pan American’s Hildur Björg Kjartansdóttir.
