DENVER - New Mexico State's Patrick Pfister has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for April 6-12.

Pfister, a senior from Dresden, Germany (Sportschool Dresden), concluded his regular season by going unbeaten in doubles and singles play in the final weekend. Last Friday, Pfister picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Seattle U's Tanner Berkabile. The following day, Pfister defeated Chicago State's Rashley Yeremia (6-0, 6-2). Pfister and partner Christofer Goncalves also claimed two doubles victories over the weekend at the No. 1 spot. His efforts helped the New Mexico State men's tennis team clinch the No. 1 seed for the 2015 WAC Tournament after defeating Seattle U and Chicago State in Chicago. The Aggies won both dual-matches by the same score-line of 6-1.

Other Men's Nominees: Juan Cruz Soria, Texas-Pan American; Andrey Smirnov, Missouri-Kansas City; Philip Kuehnen, Grand Canyon; Matt Alderson, Seattle U.
