Day Three Recap

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The New Mexico State Aggies added a pair of trophies to their collection as both the men's and women's teams from Las Cruces won the team titles at the 2015 WAC Golf Championships, concluding Wednesday at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Despite winning the team title, the NM State men did not earn individual medalist honors as Texas-Pan American freshman Nicolas Platret used a five-under 67 to rise five spots up the leaderboard and win the tournament by two strokes over Missouri-Kansas City's Antoine Rozner and NM State's Brett Walker. The Aggies were aided by four golfers finishing in the top ten as Kenneth Fadke, Pat Beyhan and Luis Medina joined Walker among the top finishers.

Following the tournamnet, Rozner was named 2014-15 WAC Men's Golfer of the Year as voted upon by the coaches. Seattle U's Joe Harvie was named 2014-15 WAC Men's Golf Freshman of the Year and New Mexico State head coach Mike Dirks earned Coach of the Year honors.

On the women's side, the Aggies earned the top spot both as a team and individually. Viviana Macias outlasted teammate Kacey Dalpes down the stretch, finishing one-under for the tournament at 215.
