WAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - Utah Valley's Sam Sweet and New Mexico State's Akuadasuo Ezenyilimba have been named the Western Athletic Conference women's track and field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for April 20-26.

Sweet, a sophomore from Sandy, Utah (Hillcrest HS), finished in second place overall in the 400 meter race this weekend at the BYU Robison Invitational. Her time of 55.42 seconds set a new personal record and now ranks second in the conference this season.

Ezenyilimba, a sophomore from Albuquerque, N.M. (La Cueva HS), recorded a personal record in the hammer throw and discuss throw at the Bobcat Classic on Saturday. Ezenyilimba marked a 50.85 meter in the hammer throw to place third on the conference performance list and recorded a mark of 46.42 in the discus to finish on top the WAC list for the 2015 season.
