WAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - Utah Valley's Chris Brower and Seattle U's Devon Walker have been named the Western Athletic Conference men's track and field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for May 4-10.

Brower, a junior from Tremonton, Utah (Bear River HS), ran a personal record in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:02.80, for a seventh-place finish in the event at the Occidental Invitational last Saturday. His time ranks third in the WAC this season.

Walker, a junior from Ventura, Calif. (Ventura HS), had a strong performance at the Ken Shannon Invitational last weekend. Friday evening, he posted a personal season-best mark of 44.94 meters in the hammer throw, finishing sixth in the event and moving into ninth place on the WAC performance list. The next day, he set a school record in the discus throw with a toss of 44.15 meters, once again finishing sixth in the event at the meet and moving up into seventh place on the WAC performance list.
