Missouri-Kansas City's Courtney Frerichs and Grand Canyon's Brianne Kee have been voted to the Capital One Academic All-America® Cross Country/Track & Field Teams. Frerichs was named to the first team, while Kee was a third-team honoree.

Frerichs, a senior from Nixa, Mo., boasts a 3.93 grade-point average as a chemistry major. She recently finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, making her a five-time All-American. She helped the 'Roos to the WAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship by winning the individual titles in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 5,000 meter run. She was also the individual champion in both the 3000- and 5000-meter runs at the WAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships and also placed first at the WAC Cross Country Championships last fall.

A senior from Peoria, Ariz., Kee is pursuing her master's of business administration and currently boasts a 4.00 GPA. She finished her undergraduate degree in finance and economics with a 3.99 GPA. She won the WAC long jump title and led the Lopes to a runner-up finish at the WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She also finished fifth in the triple jump and seventh in the 100-meter dash at the championships. Kee also helped the GCU women capture the WAC indoor title in March. She was named Capital One Academic All-District and was an All-American in the long jump in 2013.

In order to be eligible for Academic All-District and All-America honors, a player must have completed at least one academic year, must be a starter or significant reserve, must have a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and must have completed at least one full academic year at her institution. Voting is done by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
