KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Twelve WAC men's basketball players from four schools have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2014-15 Honors Court, recognizing those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
Those honored include Missouri-Kansas City's
Kevin Franceschi and
Mason Wedel, Seattle U's
Jack Crook,
Christopher Ikuenobe of UTRGV (formerly Texas-Pan American), and Utah Valley's
Mitch Bruneel,
Cory Cardwell,
Alex Carr,
Marcel Davis,
Brenden Evans,
Darrious Hamilton,
Jaden Jackson and
Chad Ross.
A record number of 1,000 student-athletes from more than 350 colleges and universities earned the honor. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet be a junior or senior academically and a varsity player, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2014-15 academic year, have matriculated at least one year at their current institution and be a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
