WAC Runners of the Week
Utah Valley's Tyson Lambert and Missouri-Kansas City's Sarah Fogarty have been named Western Athletic Conference Runners of the Week, respectively, for the week of Sept. 7-13.

Lambert led Utah Valley to a first place finish with an individual title at the Utah Open hosted by the University of Utah. The sophomore ran the men's 6k race with a time of 19:17.3. The wolverines won the meet with 25 points overall, above Boise State with 32 and Westminster College with 80 points.

Fogarty led Missouri-Kansas City for the second week in a row and finished the race 15 seconds faster than last season, even though the course seemed to be slower for most runners this year. The junior posted a time of 18:33 in the women's 5K placing sixth, just a second out of a top-five finish out of 50 runners at the Forest Park Festival.

Other men's nominees: Bryce Miller led the UMKC men's cross country team for the second meet in a row, finishing the 5K race in 15:36 for a first place finish. Chicago State's DiJon Smith posted a personal record in the 8K race at the Bradley Intercollegiate with a time of 26:42.9 to place 20th overall for the Cougars.

Other women's nominees: Teresa Sova led Texas Rio Grande Valley with a 13th place finish out of 93 runners at the Rice Invitational with a time of 17:13.40. Utah Valley's Harley Murray took led the wolverines to a 7th place finish by winning the Utah Open with a time of 15:33.5. CSU Bakersfield's Angel Valdez led the 'Runners for the second consecutive race. Her time of 15:54 was a CSUB record at the 4.2k and was better than her last 4k time last week (16:00). Syndia Delgado of Chicago State ran for a season-best three-mile time of 20:09.9 to lead CSU in the Bradley Intercollegiate finishing 54th out of 110 runners.

CSU Bakersfield
The ‘Runners finished fifth of the five Division I teams at the Bulldog Invitational. The highly competitive field featured programs like Stanford, Cal Poly, and Sacramento State.

Chicago State
DiJon Smith posted a personal record in the 8K race at the Bradley Intercollegiate in helping Chicago State post a pair of dual victories over Evansville and Western Illinois last week. The junior from Gary, Ind., ran a time of 26:42.9 to place 20th in the overall field for the Cougars. Syndia Delgado ran for a season-best three-mile time of 20:09.9 to lead CSU in the Bradley Intercollegiate last week.

Missouri-Kansas City
Sarah Fogarty and Bryce Miller have led the team in each of the first two meets, Miller winning the Forest Park Festival men's race, and Fogarty has put up two quality times this season. The men's team beat every team except for the University of Missouri in dual scoring, with the top seven runners finishing within 30 seconds of one another.

Seattle U
The Seattle University men's and women's teams continue to train in preparation for upcoming meets. In just over a month, the one meet they host a year will take place (Emerald City Open on Oct. 17).

UTRGV
The Vaqueros battled the rain and the mud at the Rice Invitational last week. The men's team finished in 10th out of 13 teams as they were paced by sophomore Rick Montero, who finished in 60th place with a time of 20:21.42. The women's team had a pair of runners who finished in the top-20 as sophomore Teresa Sova and Jennifer Zapata finished in 13th and 17th respectively.

Utah Valley
The Utah Valley men's cross country team won the Utah Open on Friday while the women's team finished in third place overall in their debut meet of the season. The Wolverines will take a week off before competing in the Roy Griak Invitational.

WAC CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2015 WAC Cross Country Championship travels to Orem, Utah. This year's championships will be hosted by Utah Valley. The Utah Valley men will look to win a third-consecutive WAC title. Seattle U claimed the women's title last season and will be looking to repeat.
