DENVER - Utah Valley's Tyson Lambert and Texas Rio Grande Valley's Teresa Sova have been named Western Athletic Conference Runners of the Week, respectively, for Sept. 21-27.

This is Lambert's second honor this season. The sophomore standout led the wolverines to a 12th place team finish at the renowned Roy Griak Invitational. He finished 40th place with a time of 25:52 on the 8K course.

Sova led the UTRGV women's team with a 52nd place finish out of 146 total runners at the Texas A&M Invitational. She finished the 6K race with a career-best time of 22:06.0 as she competed against tough competition from the South Central Region. Nine of the top-15 women's teams from the region competed at the meet, including Texas, who is ranked 27th in the nation.

Other men's nominees: University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's Jose Juan Wells led the men's team at the Texas A&M Invitational after finishing in 95th out of 154 total runners. He finished with a time of 25:51.3. Wells competed against some tough competition from the South Central Region as nine out of the top-10 teams in the region were represented in the meet. Quinlan Moll of Missouri-Kansas City ran his first 8K of the season at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Despite it being his first of the season, Moll looked to be in mid-season form, finishing in 26:24, just six second off his personal-best, which he set at the WAC Championships last season. Moll has played a major factor in the ‘Roos season thus far, finishing second on the team in each of the first three races behind sophomore Bryce Miller.

Other women's nominees: Missouri-Kansas City's Sarah Fogarty paced the UMKC women's cross country team for the third-consecutive meet, placing 60th in a very competitive field of 243 athletes with a 6K time of 22:54, placing her above scorers from nationally ranked teams such as California, and above all but one runner from no. 2 ranked Iowa State. Savannah Berry of Utah Valley led the wolverines across the finish line with a time of 23:16, good enough for 82nd place on the 6K course.
