WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Announced

DENVER - CSU Bakersfield's Addi Walters has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 11 through Jan. 17.

Walters, a freshman guard from San Francisco (St. Ignatius Prep), reset the CSU Bakersfield school record for most three pointers with nine to lead the Roadrunners past Seattle U, 76-68. Walters was 9-for-14 from behind the arc and became the first CSUB player to score over 30 points in a game since Feb. 20, 2014. Walters, who scored 16 points in the first half against Seattle U, was 11-of-18 from the field.

Other nominees included: Grand Canyon's Courtney Hayes dished out 14 assists in the Lopes win on Saturday at Utah Valley … Missouri-Kansas City's Kiana Law grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds and scored 17 points to notch her second double-double of the season against NM State … NM State's Sasha Weber scored 18 points at UMKC and 14 points at Chicago State as the Aggies went 2-0 on the road … UT Rio Grande Valley's Anushka Maldonado averaged 22.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg as the Vaqueros earned a pair of road wins at Chicago State and UMKC.
