DENVER - CSU Bakersfield junior guard Dedrick Basile has been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 11-17. This is his first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor.

The Houston, Texas, native averaged 19.5 points on 58.3 percent shooting, to go along with 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists as the Roadrunners picked up a pair of road wins last week to remain unbeaten in WAC play. Basile, who entered the week averaging 10.9 points on 43.9 percent shooting, opened the week with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win at Chicago State last Monday. He then scored a career-high 27 points, including a career-high five-three pointers and a team season-high 10 made field goals at Seattle U last Saturday. Basile also added three rebounds and two steals in leading CSU Bakersfield to its fifth straight win. The Roadrunners have now won four-straight road games for the first time since the 2007-08 season, their final year as a Division II program. CSUB is also 3-0 in WAC play for the first time since joining the conference in 2013.

Other nominees included: Joshua Braun of Grand Canyon finished with 34 points, five rebounds, one block and one steal in a win over Utah Valley ... NM State's Pascal Siakam averaged 15.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.0 assists as the Aggies went 2-0 on the week ... Antonio Green of UT Rio Grande Valley averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists as the Vaqueros went 2-0 last week ... Utah Valley's Konner Frey finished with 21 points and eight rebounds in a loss at Grand Canyon.
