DENVER - North Dakota's Marlena Pigliacampi and NM State's MacKinna Hauff have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for Oct. 24-30.
Pigliacampi, a sophomore from Ormond Beach, Fla., placed first in the 200 butterfly against Missouri State. Her time of 2:03.38 is the second best in the WAC. She also placed second in the 100 butterfly, and sixth in the 200 IM.
Hauff, a sophomore from Edmonton, Canada, won both events in NM State's meet against CSU Pueblo. She scored a 284.80 in the 3-meter and a 286.0 in the 1-meter. Her score on the 1-meter is a new personal best, beating her previous best of 274.65.
Other swimmer nominees: Alix Knagg of NM State placed first in the 100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM against CSU Pueblo.
Other diver nominees: North Dakota's Sawyer Murray won the 1-meter (251.50) and the 3-meter (242.65) helping UND defeat Missouri State.
