Six Women's Soccer Teams Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award
DENVER - Six WAC women's soccer teams have been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for success in the classroom, posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher in 2015-16.

Grand Canyon, UMKC, NM State, Seattle U, UT Rio Grande Valley and Utah Valley represented the WAC on the list of 557 women's teams spanning all divisions. This is the sixth year in a row that Seattle U has earned the honor, and seventh time in school history. NM State has earned the honor six times, UMKC five times, Grand Canyon four times, Utah Valley three times and UT Rio Grande Valley twice.

A total of 892 soccer teams (315 men, 577 women) from throughout the United States have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2015-16 academic year. Among these programs are 221 schools receiving honors for both their men and women's teams.

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
