DENVER - After winning three straight matches to become the lowest seed to win the WAC Men's Soccer Tournament, the UNLV Rebels learned their postseason fate and they will head to California to take on San Diego State in the opening round of the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament.
The Rebels and Aztecs will meet up at the SDSU Sports Deck on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. PT. The winner of that match will travel to Colorado for a date with sixth-seed Denver on Sunday.
UNLV used a pair of goals from tournament MVP and first team All-WAC honoree Danny Musovski to earn a 2-1 win over Air Force for the WAC tournament title. The Rebels earned a spot in the championship match with a 3-2 win over UT Rio Grande Valley on Thursday night and a 1-0 win over tournament host and top-seed Utah Valley on Friday.
The Rebels last trip to the NCAA Tournament came in 2014 as UNLV fell to UC Irvine in the first round, 3-0.
