KANSAS CITY, Mo. - No. 3 UMKC defeated No. 2 CSU Bakersfield 4-0 to advance to the championship match of the 2016 WAC Women's Soccer Tournament. UMKC will face No. 1 Seattle U on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT with a berth in the NCAA Tournament on the line.

Emily Herndon opened the scoring in the 21st minute for the Roos with a sizzling first-time shot from the top of the box, finishing off a Lexie Howard cross.

UMKC doubled the lead in the final five minutes of the half when Niekie Pellens nodded home Reighan Childers corner kick. It was the senior's second goal of WAC Tournament, after scoring just once in 19 regular season matches.

Herndon picked up the brace by converting a penalty kick in the 50th minute and Abby Small closed out the scoring with a curling effort from 25-yards out. Childers earned the assist on Small's goal, giving her two in the match.

CSUB fired ten shots, but only got one on frame, which was handled by UMKC goalkeeper Anna Lillig, while the Roos took 17 shots, seven on target.
