WAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - Seattle U's Blaise Wittenauer-Lee and Northern Arizona's Alexa Geiger have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for Nov. 1-7.

Wittenauer-Lee, a senior from Portland, Ore., won all three events she competed in against Idaho this weekend. Her first place finishes include 200 IM (2:05.00), 200 breast (2:16.68), and the 100 breast (1:02.90). The times from all three events rank number 1 in the WAC.

Geiger, a senior from Fullerton, Calif., won the 1 meter against Idaho with a score of 310.65. She also placed second in the 3 meter with a score of 319.72. Both scores are NCAA Zone Qualifying marks and are season bests for Geiger.

Other swimmer nominees: NAU's Kimmy Richter placed first in the 100 free against Washington State and first in the 500 free against Idaho… CSUB's Paola Hernandez won the 100 and 200 free against Idaho and Seattle… North Dakota's Marlena Pigliacampi placed second in the 100 and 200 fly against Minnesota… Idaho's Allie Magrino won the 100 and 200 back against NAU and the 100 back against CSUB and Seattle U.

Other diver nominees: Idaho's Janelle Lucas won the 3 meter against CSUB with a score of 313.42…CSUB's Carlee Burks won the 1 meter (298.80) and placed second in the 3 meter (306.30) against Idaho.
