WAC Men's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - UNLV's Tom Paco-Pedroni and Grand Canyon's Pietro Toscani have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for Nov. 1-7.

Paco-Pedroni, a senior from Nice, France is back after redshirting the 2015-2016 season. He won four of his five individual events this weekend in meets against BYU and Utah. He placed first in the 50 free (20.14) and the 100 free (43.41) against Utah. Both of these wins are now the top times in the WAC. Against BYU, he won the 100 free (44.62) and the 200 free (1:38.68). His time in the 200 free is also the best in the WAC.

Toscani, a freshman from Sao Palo, Brazil, won both diving events against Air Force. He scored a 284.78 on the 3 meter and made an NCAA zone qualifying score with a 309.23 on the 1 meter.

Other swimmer nominees: GCU's Bogdan Plavin placed first in the 50 free against Air Force and ranked highest swim in the WAC… North Dakota's Noah Lucas had three top three finishes against Minnesota… Seattle U's Tanner Schelling won both the 100 and 200 breast against CSUB and improved both times from last week… CSUB's Lovre Soric won the 200 IM and the 200 free against Seattle U… Wyoming's Wade Nelson placed first in the 200 fly and the 200 breast against Colorado Mesa.

Other diver nominees: CSU Bakersfield's Tyler Greenwald posted his first 300+ mark of the season on the 3 meter… Wyoming's Scotia Mullin won the 1 meter against Colorado Mesa.
