WAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - Utah Valley's Adrian Jones and Daven Russell have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Dec. 5-11.

Jones, a freshman from Meridian, Idaho, finished second overall in the 600 meter at the BYU December Invite. He finished with a time of 1:25.32, the fastest in UVU program history.

Russell, a senior from Kanab, Utah, placed third overall in the shot put at the BYU Invite. His shot put throw (16.71 meters) set a new indoor program record and broke Russell's own previous school record. He also placed third in the weight throw (15.74 meters) and seventh in the discus (44.90 meters).

Other track nominees: UMKC's Zane Lockhart placed fourth in the pentathlon and fourth in the long jump section of the pentathlon at the Carol Robinson Indoor Pentathlon and K-state Winter Invitational.

Other field nominees: UMKC's Jacob Hockman placed fourth in the shot put at the K-State Winter Invitational with a new personal best throw of 14.08 meters.
