WAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER -UMKC's Remy Abrought and Utah Valley's Angela Cardon have been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Dec. 5-11.

Abrought, a senior from Kansas City, Mo., won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.73 seconds at the K-State Winter Invitational. She also placed eighth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.99 seconds.

Cardon, a freshman from Pasco, Wash., won the long jump with a mark of 5.57 meters at the BYU Indoor Invite. She placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.56 meters, ranking second overall in program indoor history.

Other track nominees: Utah Valley's Mykah Ouderkirk earned a vitory in the pentathlon at the BYU Indoor Invite and her score (3332 points) tied for the third highest in program history.

Other field nominees: UMKC's Martana Stemmons placed fourth in the shot put (12.04 meters) and sixth in the weight throw (13.84 meters) at the K-State Winter Invitational.
