KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the NCAA Division I Men's Scholar All-America and All-Region Teams and the Utah Valley duo of
Paul Hoffmeister and
Alex Neff were honored.
Hoffmeister, a junior midfielder from Hilden, Germany, was named First Team Scholar All-America after posting a 3.95 grade-point average throughout his collegiate career. Earlier this month, he was named a CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American and also received NSCAA All-American Third Team honors.
Neff, a senior defender from South Weber, Utah, earned Second Team Scholar All-American honors with a 3.39 grade-point average. He is just one of two players on this year's teams to receive repeat selection after he was honored last season as well.
Both were named first-team All-WAC and NSCAA All-West Region following Utah Valley's run to a WAC regular season championship. Neff was first-team All-WAC in each of his three seasons at Utah Valley. The two were also CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 selections.
