WAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER - UMKC's Jamarice Preston and Utah Valley's Bryce Norris have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Athletes of the week, respectively, for Nov. 28-Dec. 4.

Preston, a sophomore from Dallas, Texas, kicked off the indoor season by winning the 600 yard dash at the Bob Timmons Challenge at KU. His time of 1:11.53 set the UMKC a UMKC program record.

Norris, a freshman from Klamath Falls, Ore., in his college debut, won the triple jump at the Wildcat Winter Open. His jump was recorded at 13.72 meters, which ranks as the fourth highest jump ever by a UVU athlete in an indoor meet.

Other track nominees: Utah Valley's Stetson Sartor won the 55 meter dash (6.37 seconds) with a personal best time at the Weber State Wildcat Winter Open.

Other field nominees: UMKC's Jacob Hockman placed third in the weight throw with a personal best of 15.09 meters and seventh in the shot put (13.38 meters) at the Bob Timmons Challenge.
