DENVER - North Dakota's Noah Lucas and Wyoming's Scotia Mullin have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for Nov. 28-Dec. 4.
Lucas, a senior from Shoreview, Minn., earned six first place finishes at the Bucknell Invite. He won all three of his individual events and swam anchor legs on two of three winning relays. He broke school records in the 50 free (19.75) and the 100 free (43.91), and his 50 free time ranks number one in the WAC.
Mullin, a freshman from Glasgow, Scotland, won the three meter event against Utah with a score of 322.80. He also received a 301.05 on the 1 meter, earning second place. Both of his dives were NCAA Zone qualifying scores.
Other swimmer nominees: UNLV's Tom Paco-Pedroni won the 100 free and placed second in the 200 free and 100 IM at the UNLV Winter Invite… CSUB's Lovre Soric posted season bests in all four events, and a CSUB season best in the 100 fly at the Winter Nationals… Seattle U's Tanner Schelling won the 100 breast stroke at the Husky Invitational, earning the number two rank in the WAC… Wyoming's Gabe Rooker placed first in 100 breast and 200 breast against Utah.
