DENVER - Utah Valley's JT Timmons and Seattle U's Ellen Brantberg have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 9 through Feb. 16.

Timmons, a junior from Holladay, Utah (Olympus HS), put together a pair of solid tournaments for the Wolverines over the last week. Last week, he led the Wolverines to a first place team finish at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah, carding a 10-under 134 over 36 holes to take medalist honors among 68 golfers. This week, he was 10-over to tie for 19th at the Folino Invitational, carding a 226 over 54 holes.

Brantberg, a junior from Stockholm, Sweden (Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium), battled windy conditions at the Matador Invitational in Simi Valley, Calif. to tie for 7th with a 21-over 237. The transfer from CSUN used her experience on the Matadors' home course to lead the Redhawks to a fifth place finish as a team, tying for second place in total pairs with 30 and just five strokes behind the co-medalists.

Other men's nominees: CSU Bakersfield's Teo Chiesa fired a 4-under 68, the lowest round by a CSUB golfer since 2012-13, in the final round of the Folino Invitational to finish tied for 12th with a 6-over 222 ... Seattle U's Joe Harvie once again rose to the top of the leaderboard, shooting a 1-under 215 at The Farms Collegiate in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. … Missouri-Kansas City's Jack Hermeston shot a nine-over 222 at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational to help the Roos open up the spring season.

Other women's nominees:
UT Rio Grande Valley's Michelle Moroles posted three straight rounds in the 70s to lead the Vaqueros with a 54-hole score of 234 at the All There August Challenge … Utah Valley's Kalea Heu led the Wolverines at the Bison at Boulder Creek tournament, posting a 17-over 233 to tie for 14th place.
