DENVER - Missouri-Kansas City's Antoine Rozner and Mackenzie Black have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 17 through Feb. 23.
Rozner, a senior from Paris, France (Lycee Jean de la Fontaine), recorded his 11th and 12th rounds at or below par as he tied for 19th at the SunTrust Gator Open. He finished the 54-hole tournament with an even-par 210 to lead the Roos in scoring for the fifth time this season while also recording his fifth top-20 finish of the season. As a team, UMKC finished 13th among a stacked field.
Black, a junior from Independence, Iowa (Independence HS), carded a 70 in the final round of the Battle at the Rock in Riverside, Calif. to tie for 12th among 45 golfers. The scored is tied for the fifth lowest in UMKC history and tied for the lowest in the tournament. She notched her second top-20 finish of the season and her second round at or below par as the Roos finished fourth among eight schools.
Other men's nominees: UT Rio Grande Valley's Andres Gonzalez finished tied for 10th among 72 golfers at the weather-shortened Atchafalaya Intercollegiate in Patterson, La.
