NAMPA, Idaho - Seattle U has taken home the first individual title on the first day of competition at the 2016 WAC Indoor Track and Field Championship as Redhawk junior Mandie Maddux (WAC Digital Network interview) won the pentathlon. Grand Canyon junior Pierre-louis Ricou has a 253 point advantage over sophomore teammate Timmy Johnson heading into Friday's day two of the heptathlon, beginning at 11 a.m. MT. The rest of the individual events begin on Friday, beginning with the men's high jump at 11 a.m. MT and the women's weight throw at 12:30 p.m. MT. The women's mile will kick off the track events Friday, at 2 p.m. MT. The men's and women's 5,000-meter final and Distance Medley Relay final wrap up the second day of competition.
