WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Announced

DENVER - CSU Bakersfield's Batabe Zempare has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 1 through Feb. 7.

Zempare, a senior forward from Accra, Ghanna (Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chapparal HS), edged closer to 1000 career points as the Roadrunners won their first two road games of the season at Missouri-Kansas City and Chicago State. The WAC's leading rebounder averaged 7.0 rebounds per game to go with 15.5 points per game and just one turnover to help move CSUB into third place in the conference standings. Her top game came at Chicago State, scoring 16 points with nine rebounds, three steals and an assists in a 74-61 win over the Cougars.

Other nominees included: Missouri-Kansas City's Samantha Waldron averaged 18.0 ppg as the ‘Roos split a pair of games at home to CSU Bakersfield and Seattle U ...
