NM State's Siakam Named AP Honorable Mention All-American

NM State sophomore Pascal Siakam today was named an Associated Press honorable mention All-American, becoming the third player in school history named to the team.

The unanimous WAC Player of the Year, Siakam was also named first team All-WAC, to the WAC All-Defensive Team, to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 6 first team and to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association of America (USBWA) All-District VIII team. He leads the nation with 27 double-doubles, ranking eighth nationally in rebounding (11.6) and 26th in scoring (20.3). Siakam was also named WAC Player of the Week an unprecedented five times this season.

The AP All-America team is voted on by the national media panel that selects the weekly AP basketball poll. The AP team has been selected since 1948. The complete teams are below.
