UMKC's Rozner Named To Palmer Cup's Team Europe
UMKC senior Antoine Rozner has been named to the Palmer Cup's Team Europe the Golf Coaches Association of America Announced today. The annual Ryder Cup-style competition will be played June 24-26 at Formby Golf Club in Formby, England.

This season, Rozner has claimed three individual titles this season (Mark Simpson Invitational, Price's “Give ‘Em 5” Invitational and Desert Shootout), the second most in a season in school history, giving him five career titles, also the second most in school history. His current scoring average of 70.38 is the best in UMKC history and the 10th best in the NCAA and his career average of 72.39 is tops in UMKC history. He has been named one of 25 to the Ben Hogan watch list, while setting the school record with a round of 63 at the Price's “Give ‘Em 5” Invitational and now holds five of the 15 lowest rounds in school history. Earlier this season he broke his own school record with a three round score of 197 at Price's “Give ‘Em 5” Invitational and now holds five of the top-10 lowest tournament scores in school history. Currently, he is ranked 78th according to Golfstat, 32nd in Golfstat Cup, 71st by Golfweek, 32nd by WAGR and 57th in the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking. This season is a four-time WAC Golfer of the Week/Month.

In 1997 Arnold Palmer was approached by the Golf Coaches Association of America regarding lending his name to an international collegiate event between the United States and Great Britain and Ireland. The event would use a Ryder Cup-style format and bring together the top eight collegiate players in the United States against their counterparts from GB&I. Palmer, a former collegiate player himself, has been called America's greatest Ambassador for the game of golf. With his blessing and the support of the Arnold Palmer Golf Company, the inaugural event was played at his own Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida in June 1997.
