DENVER -Missouri-Kansas City's Francois Lagraulet has been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for April 13 through April 19.
Lagraulet, a freshman from Bordeaux, France (Lycee Jean de laFontaine), posted a runner-up finish at the Hawkeye Invitational to wrap up the regular season. The first-year Roo fired a 7-under-par 209 for the second best tournament score of his career. After shooting a career-best 67 in the first round, his third-round 71 helped lead UMKC to a 298, the ninth best round in school history, as the team took sixth among 14 teams.
Other men's nominees: Chicago State's Drew Vannoy tied for 28th place at the Beu/Mossato Invitational in Macomb, Ill., shooting a 16-over-par 232 … Seattle U's Kyle Cornett fired a 2-under-par 70 in the final round of the El Macero Classic to finish in a tie for 10th place with a 6-over-pay 222.
