The Western Athletic Conference has converged upon the Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Wash. to begin back-to-back weekends of championship golf. The women take center stage this weekend as two-time defending champion NM State is the favorite to win a third straight title. NM State is led by senior Viviana Macias, who also leads the WAC with a 73.71 scoring average through 28 rounds this season. Teammate Camille Orito is second in the WAC with a 75.00 scoring average with Missouri-Kansas City freshman Cynthia Diaz leading all non-Aggie golfers with a 75.08 scoring average.

The women will open up competition on Friday morning at Semiahmoo Country Club with the first wave heading off at 8 a.m. local time. The 54-hole event is set to conclude on Sunday afternoon with the 2015-16 WAC individual and team champion crowned.

Next week, the men will head to the Pacific Northwest as the action will shift to Loomis Trail Golf Club, beginning on Saturday, April 30.
