DENVER - Utah Valley women's golfer Kim Nyhus has been named to the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as the representative of the Western Athletic Conference. She will serve from June 1, 2016, through May 31, 2018.

The Orem, Utah, native and representatives from the NCAA's other Division I conferences meet three times during each calendar year, with a fall meeting typically in November in Indianapolis, a winter meeting in conjunction with the NCAA Convention in January and a four-day summer meeting in July. The appointment generally entails numerous other conference calls and webinars throughout the year.

"The WAC would like to congratulate Kim on her selection to the Division I National SAAC," said Marlon Edge, WAC SAAC liaison. "We are very excited to have Kim representing our membership and WAC student-athletes for the next two years. She will be an excellent representative for the league at the conference and national levels."

The mission of the Division I SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image. Nyhus will be responsible for keeping other WAC SAAC members educated on the relevant issues at the NCAA level.
