WAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Grand Canyon's Felix Schueller and Tatum Prudhomme have been named Western Athletic Conference Tennis Players of the Week, respectively, for April 18-24.

Schueller, a senior from Amstetten, Austria (BG/BRG Ostarrichi Amstten) was crowned the Ojai Tournament champion going 4-0 in singles on the week. He went 12-8 overall in singles during regular season and ended his GCU career as the Ojai Tournament champion.

Prudhomme, a junior from Glendale, Ariz. (Connections Academy) reached the semifinals in both singles and doubles in the Ojai Tournament, going 3-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles with partner Susan Baklini.

Other men's nominees: Missouri-Kansas City's Airam Castellano won his 11th straight singles decision and six straight doubles match. He extended his own school records with his 25th singles win and 23 doubles wins this season which sits 8th in career singles wins. The sophomore has moved into a tie for 11th with 39 career doubles wins. Seattle U's Brian Nguyen won both his singles match and doubles match with partner Michael Schoettler on Senior Day. Nguyen finished his regular season career winning three of his last four doubles matches with partners Jeremiah Kalmus and Schoettler. He also won his first singles match of the spring season on Senior Day.

GRAND CANYON
On the final day of the Ojai Tournament, two GCU men's tennis players met for an all-Grand Canyon final in the independent singles bracket. Senior Felix Scheuller emerged with the 6-4, 6-2 victory over teammate Adrian Legarreta to claim the trophy. Grand Canyon is entering their final year of transition into a Division I program. Schueller was instrumental to the establishment of the program and has made great contributions over his four-year career. He is a captain for the Lopes and has played consistently at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles all season long. The Ojai Tournament was the season finale for both the men's and the women's teams. Both teams will take the summer months off and return during the fall. The GCU women were led by Tatum Prudhomme throughout the day. Prudhomme is the No. 2 overall see in the independent singles tournament and she won three matches to advance to the semifinals. She swept her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in the round of 32, defeated teammate Kylie Waschuk in the round of 16, and then won a close three-set match by scores of 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the quarterfinals to move on. Prudhomme will also be playing in the doubles semifinals tomorrow with partner Susan Baklini. The pair swept their quarterfinals opponents 6-0, 6-0 to advance.

MISSOURI-KANSAS CITY
UMKC men's tennis closed out its regular season on a high note as the ‘Roos upended rival Rockhurst 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Plaza Tennis Center on Senior Day.

SEATTLE U
Tanner Berkabile won his second straight singles match in straight sets in the win vs. Linfield … Ian Clare finished his regular season career with two straight wins, including a straight sets victory on Senior Day … With their 10th win of the season, the Redhawks earned their second double digit win season since returning to Division I and look to tie and surpass their 11-win season in 2013-14. On the women's side, due to weather forecasted in the area, Seattle University and Idaho women's tennis agreed to finish the match once it was clinched, a 4-0 win for the Vandals. As part of the day's activities, senior Kristen James (Lubbock, Texas) was honored in her final home match as a Redhawk. The Redhawks head to the WAC Tournament in Texas next weekend.

3-WAY TIE FOR MEN'S REGULAR SEASON TITLE
Grand Canyon, NM State and Missouri-Kansas City tied for the WAC Regular Season Title with all teams going 4 and 1 in conference play. Although Grand Canyon is not eligible for postseason competition, they are not excluded from the regular season standings, which are used to determine the WAC tournament seeds. Because Grand Canyon, UMKC and New Mexico State all concluded WAC play with a 4-1 record, a tiebreaker was necessary. Following the policy from the WAC Code Book, we used head-to-head competition first. Because that three-way tie cannot be broken, the next tiebreaker is ITA rankings. Based on these rankings, the men's tournament seeds are as follows:
1. UMKC
2. NM State
3. UTRGV
4. Seattle U
5. Chicago State

NM STATE WOMEN OUTRIGHT CLINCH REGULAR SEASON TITLE
The Aggie women captured their first regular-season WAC title as Lindsay Harlas, a Las Cruces native clinched the match for NM State beating Seattle U 6-1. With the regular-season championship in sight, NM State reeled off five-straight wins in singles action to notch its eight-straight victory. The last time NM State won eight-straight matches dated back to the 2002 season when it won 13-straight. The Aggies only recorded eight-straight victories two other times in program history (1996, 2000).

Women's Tournament Seeding
There were no ties on the women's side, so the seeding for the tournament is as follows:
1. NM State
2. UTRGV
3. UMKC
4. Seattle U
5. Chicago State
