DENVER -Grand Canyon's Alex Kline and Missouri-Kansas City's Cynthia Diaz have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for March 30 through April 5.

Kline, a senior from Ramsey, Minn. (Elk River HS), posted his second top-20 finish of the season at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz. After opening the tournament with a 3-over-par 75 in the opening round, he shot a 2-under-par 70 in the second round. He saved his best round for last, firing a 3-under-par 69 to move up 20 spots into a tie for 16th place.

Diaz, a freshman from Bucaramanga, Columbia (Colegio Panamericano), won the first individual title in UMKC women's golf history, shooting a 4-over-par 220 to finish ahead of 83 other golfers at the Kansas City Shootout. Her best round came on Tuesday, carding a 2-under-par 70 to record the third-lowest score in school history. In her short time in Kansas City, she has recorded four of the top five tournament scores in program history.

Missouri-Kansas City's Francois Lagraulet led the ‘Roos in scoring for the third time this season, finishing in a tie for 8th place at the Redhawk Invitational with a 20-over-par 232 … NM State's Isaac Merry shot three rounds in the 70s to lead the Aggies with a 229 at the Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas … Seattle U's Kyle Cornett shot a 15-over-par 227 to finish 10th at the Redhawk Invitational … Utah Valley's JT Timmons carded a 3-over-par 73 in Tuesday's final round to finish in a tie for 13th place at the Redhawk Invitational.

Other women's nominees: NM State's Camille Orito led the Aggies with a 54-hole total of 227 at the SMU/DAC Invitational … Seattle U's Dorsey Addicks led the Redhawks to a fifth-place finish as a team, firing a 221 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic … Utah Valley's Carly Dehlin posted a 13-over-par 229 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic to lead the Wolverines.
