CSU Bakersfield Headed to UCLA for NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS - CSU Bakersfield, which won its first-ever WAC Tournament title Saturday, will make its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Softball Tournament at the Division I level as the Roadrunners will travel to the Los Angeles Regional this Friday.

CSU Bakersfield (16-32) will face host and No. 12 overall seed UCLA (35-13-1) this Friday, May 20. Cal State Fullerton (43-14) will face Fresno State (41-10-1) on the other side of the bracket in the double elimination regional.

The Roadrunners are led by Julea Cavazos, who is batting .382 with 12 RBIs this season. Sydney Raeber is second in the team in batting average (.318) and also has five saves in the circle while limiting opponents to a team-best .234 batting average.

The Bruins have two players that hit over .400 and seven players with batting averages of .300 or better. UCLA has earned seven Pac-12 Player, Pitcher and Freshman of the Year honors this season.

CSUB fell 8-2 to Cal State Fullerton on March 23.
