WAC Tournament Game 2: #3 Utah Valley 6, #6 CSU Bakersfield 4

MESA, Ariz. - Utah Valley starter Danny Beddes took a no-hitter into the fourth inning as the Wolverines held on to defeat CSU Bakersfield in the second game of the 2016 WAC Baseball Tournament at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Ariz.

After the Roadrunners scored a lone run in the top of the first, the Wolverines scored five unanswered over the first three innings to build a 5-1 lead. David Metzgar hit a two-run single in the top of the eighth to pull the Runners back within two runs but a Craig Brinkerhoff home run pushed the Wolverines back up by three. CSUB managed a single run in the top of the ninth but UVU's Kyle Valgardson struck out a pair in the final frame to earn his eighth save of the year and give the Wolverines the 6-4 win.

Beddes earned the win for UVU. Max Carter threw all eight innings for CSU Bakersfield to take the loss. With the win, Utah Valley advances to play NM State on Thursday at 3 p.m. CSU Bakersfield will play Northern Colorado in the first loser-out game of the tournament at 11 a.m.
