DENVER - The 2015-16 All-WAC teams have been named following a vote of the WAC's eight head coaches. Missouri-Kansas City swept the major awards as senior Antoine Rozner was named WAC Player of the Year, Francois Lagraulet was named WAC Freshman of the Year and J.W. VanDenBorn was named WAC Coach of the Year.
Rozner earned honors after leading the WAC in stroke average all season before winning the 2016 WAC Men's Golf Championship by seven strokes with a 12-under-par 204. The senior was named WAC Golfer of the Month for both September and October and added two more WAC Golfer of the Week awards in the spring. He is set to compete for Team Europe at the Arnold Palmer Cup on June 24-26 at Formby Golf Club in Formby, England.
Lagraulet was named WAC Freshman of the Year after teaming with Rozner to give UMKC a potent one-two punch. The Bordeaux, France native holds a 71.89 scoring average this season, including a 5-under-par 211 at the 2016 WAC Men's Golf Championship to place second behind his elder teammate.
VanDenBorn earns his first WAC Coach of the Year honor after guiding the ‘Roos to their first WAC men's golf championship. A graduate of UMKC, he has headed the men's program for the past 12 seasons after two seasons as a player and another as an assistant coach under former coach Bill Ross.
Rozner and Lagraulet headline the first team All-WAC. Joining the two ‘Roos are Utah Valley's Blair Bursey, NM State's Kenneth Fadke II and Seattle U's Joe Harvie.
The All-WAC second team honorees are Grand Canyon's Alex Kline and Jake Byrum, Missouri-Kansas City's Thibault Vieilledent and Jakob Garstecki and Seattle U's Jamie Hall.
