INDIANAPOLIS - Missouri-Kansas City women's basketball player Justice Collins has been appointed to the eight-member NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Oversight Advancement Committee. She is the only student-athlete on the committee.
The newly-formed committee will review the following areas to develop a strategic plan intended to grow the game of women's basketball - student-athlete experience, ticket pricing strategies, ticket sales, revenue generation, budget, marketing, building attendance, TV ratings, fan experience and site selection (when appropriate). The committee will have five or six teleconferences each year and one in-person meeting during the summer.
A senior from Springfield, Ill., Collins is one-time Academic All-WAC honoree. She served as president of the UMKC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during the 2015-16 school year and will be vice president in 2016-17. Collins also serves as the UMKC representative on WAC SAAC.
