CHICAGO - Chicago State University officials announced Tuesday that men's basketball head coach Tracy Dildy has been appointed Interim Director of Athletics. He replaces former Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Denisha Hendricks, who recently resigned from the position. Dildy, a native Chicagoan, has extensive experience in collegiate athletics.
“With 25 years of experience, Dildy possesses the proven ability to lead and continue to build the department,†CSU President Dr. Thomas Calhoun said. “He is reputed as an energetic and dedicated coach. His leadership skills and ability to rise to any occasion made him the right choice for the role at this time.â€
Dildy is a graduate of the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC), where he was inducted into the UIC Athletic Hall of Fame. He earned a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1991 after playing two seasons for the school's basketball team. Additionally, Dildy is a member of the Hall of Fame for both the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and the Chicago Public League Basketball Coaches Association.
Dildy has been the head coach for CSU men's basketball since 2010. Prior to Chicago State, he served as the associate head coach at UIC and has held several other coaching positions across the nation including Auburn, Ball State, DePaul, UAB and Ole Miss.
Dildy will continue to serve as CSU's men's basketball head coach as he assumes the responsibilities of his newly appointed position.
