KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Utah Valley men's basketball team is one of 131 teams honored today by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) with a Team Academic Excellence Award.
Created by the NABC Committee on Academics, the award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2015-16 season. In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA Division I and II, must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes who competed during the 2015-16 season.
The Wolverines had five student-athletes -
Andrew Bastien,
Cory Cardwell, Alex Carr,
Marcel Davis and
Jaden Jackson - named to the 2015-16 NABC Honors Court for having a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2015-16 academic year.
